Complete adoption application found above. We will email you if application is approved (please watch spam folder) and then set up an appointment to come meet animal with possibility of taking the animal home.

Please go to procedures and hours page. Complete an intake form. We will then email you once we have an open kennel for animal. We only intake after form has been completed.

We are not animal control (St. James does not have animal control) and we can not pick up animals.

If interested in volunteering, please go to procedures and hours page and scroll down to volunteer form. We will then email if we have hours available for ones you request.

We work along side many other rescues and organizations.

We are a no kill animal shelter! We are made up of all volunteers that give their time and energy to care for stray or abandoned animals until forever homes can be found.


We reserve the right to approve or deny any application as we find the best home for each animal.

Protect the welfare of abandoned or abused animals by providing a safe, clean, loving environment. While with us they are spay/neutered, vaccinated, put on flea prevention, dewormed, microchipped, Felv/heartworm tested as needed and any other medical treatment needed before finding them forever homes!
